Default How to change brake pads and fluid

Can someone direct me to a step by step procedure on how to replace my front brake pads on my 90? And also, my brake fluid is all dirty so how do I get the old stuff out and fresh stuff in properly? I'm selling my Jeep and don't want any hiccups!

Pull the wheels, take the calipers off, press the pistons in (round part with rubber boot on caliper) either use c clamp or caliper tool. Install new pads, put together.

Suck brake fluid out of master cyl, refill with new. Crack bleeders on wheel cyl and calipers. Leave it drip (gravity bleed) until the fluid is clear. Make sure master cyl doesnt go dry.

Easy method, if you have no experience, take it to a shop.

google brake pad change walkthrough or tutorial

lots of good articles out there. cherokee is the same as most any other car.

bleeding you start from the corner furthest from the master and work toward the closest. you will need a friend to pump and bleed or a vacuum bleeder to do this.

Most important step when working on a vehicle is this. Do not be scared of it. Take an afternoon. Read a brake change guide. Throw a few back " if over the age of 21 :-p" and enjoy it!
