i am going to build some armor for my jeep. i want to make a gas take plate and a tranny/t case plate.. just woundering what kind of steel plate i should use. and any tips you guys have would help me out alot.. thanks

3/16 should be plenty thick enough without too much weight.
there's no perfect design, just start cutting and welding. but make the t-case support brackets twice as thick/strong.
