I got these injectors yesterday brand new- walk in store for 60... Since i am the only person on this entire website that may have installed these injectors in a 2001 I will let you know what happens and how they work. I also have no idea what Im doing.. Looks pretty simple BUT I saw that you might need some removal tools to detach fuel line from rail? Anyway, if anyone is reading this please post your thoughts!

the reasontoi do the injecto up grade is to get the four hole spras in a finer mist than a single hole fuel burns more in the cyl

Yep, presuming 2 injector types (1 hole vs multi-hole) have the same flow rate, the multi-hole injector will have a finer spray mist giving better fuel atomization which improves combustion for less unburned fuel out the tailpipe, etc., etc.

The newer type of injectors are built to provide better atomization while still in the housing, without the need for multiple ports. Many people are saying these are better.

Hey BlackBetty, How do you like your RE lift? It's the same setup I was gonna go with on mine, with 31s. Did you use 9.5 or 10.5 wides?

I like it a lot...It rides really well once i got it broken in and ive had no problems with it soo far.... Well worth the money for a better lift kit with a lifetime warranty. Id suggest getting an adjustable trac bar for it though and a transfer case drop if you dont go with a sye and driveshaft. Im running 10.5 now and plan on going to 33's here soon with some more fender trimming

Default Job Complete 2001 Injector Upgrade Ford XR3E 9F593 A4B

I DID NOT REMOVE FUEL RAIL
THESE INJECTORS DO NOT USE THE STOCK CLIPNUTS

I completed the job in 1.5 hours start to finish. A monkey with a screwdriver and a pliers could do this job. I DID NOT remove the fuel line from the fuel rail. I was able to rotate the rail a bit upward while connected to fuel line and I removed and installed the new injectors.

The truck runs smoother at idle. Its quick as all hell but it was before as well since I ran that seafoam crap.. That stuff works man!

Anyway, I see very little difference.. At least they work and apparently according to that post at http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...ad.php?t=92236 they are the best ones.

I can assure you they work for my 2001 without clipnuts and its an easy job!! DO IT!!

You HAVE to remove the fuel rail. It's bolted down in place. The new Ford injectors might not use the clipnut but the ones you took off did. 1.5 hours? Oy! I swapped out the 703's I had in my '94 XJ the other day for a fresh set of Ford 710's and it took me 14 minutes and 39 seconds start to finish and I completely removed the fuel rail. As far as not disconnecting the fuel lines from the rail that would result in a LOT of gas being dumped down the side of your engine when you pull the old injectors out. In any event I would like to hear some updates from those running the new style Ford injectors. Of course if you just go from the stock XJ injectors to the Ford ones you can't really say how they compare performance wise with the Dodge 784's.

Yes 4 hole injectors from a 1999- 02 ford windstar 3.8 l. And the clipnuts work fine on this set of injectors.

It took really about a 1/2 hour.. the other hour I was reading to make sure I was doing it right... This is a 2001.. 703's dont work.. You DO NOT have to DISCONNECT the fuel rail FROM THE FUEL LINE sorry for typo.. There is a FLEX on the fuel line specifically so you dont have to remove the fule rail while changing injectors.. I put rags under each injector as i removed them so no gas on engine. I reinstalled, no clipnuts needed and they work great..

I did not have the proper plastic tool to remove the fuel line so.. I just rotated the rail upward.. I never did this before so i take my time.. Now its a 1/2 hour or less for sure.. I am not sure what a 94 looks like but the 2001 does not require removing teh fuel line from the rail.. Why open ope a 10 year old attachement like that if you dont have to.. Less chance of leaks..

However, they are dumping too much fuel.. I think its running rich.. According to COAS you have to run it for a while and 50 starts..

Anyway, I'm not sure how your doing it but IM going to keep swapping injectors, 1/2 hour or less job now that I know how to do it, until I find the ones giving me the most power.. these do not appear to be doing anything better then stock.. I have a lead foot however..

Im going to try the LEANER fords or the Boche 784's next.. I will just resell whatever I dont use till I get the setup I want..

Unfortunatly, I can tell that you have not installed injectors without clipnut in your rig? Or did you before? The clipnuts look useless to me but Im sure they are not!!. The pop right in EITHER way.. Clipnuts are to hold them straight in place.. That said, I also was not comfortable with that idea but no leaks and runs great.. I think in 2001 the stock injectors kick *** to begin with.. I feel less power so far and worse gas mileage.. Looks like I have to run it a while. Ill keep trying.. Im going to run those leaner fords next.. 19#.. However, Im afraid they will screw up the truck.. Boche 784 is my other choice..

I agree on the clipnuts not being used as a potential problem.. However, the injectors were recommended in that Aussi post by COAS and Rainman.. I was surprised clipnuts did not fit on them.. That would have been useful in that post..

What do you think next Boche 784's or the Fords 19# on that list
Ford xf2e-c4b injectors

Im not that happy with these I put in really.. I wonder why they were 60 bucks new!!!
