Default Help me decide which brackets to order

Here's the dilemma. I have 4" of lift. Rough Country states theirs works with 4.5" minimum. Rocy Road states 4". Is that 1/2" really a big difference when it comes to these brackets? I really want to order RC's because of their excellent CS and shipping but if it's not gonna work with my lift then i'll try my luck with RR.

I have 2" OME coils and two 1" spacers stacked. I could just throw on another isolater and get 4.5 but two 1" spacers and two isolators? Don't sound good to me.

What's your take on this?

My vote is for rocky road...Reason is I know they will work on a 4" lift.. Plus unlike others, my experiences with their products has been top notch. Good welds and over all good design and build. Plus you get in writing it will work with a 4" lift.. I have talked to RC and they say the only reason they list 4.5" is because they don't sell a 4" lift and well of course their marketing it geared towards what they sell. Anyways me I'd go Rocky Road, just drop em a call and place the order as their online ordering system is slow. Plus you can often get a better price on shipping. I plan on one of these kits and I will go with Rocky Road.

Well i'm skeptical about ordering from RR. I read a thread over on JF about experiences with them. They are all recent and most of them waited 2 months or more for their product to arrive and some had run-arounds and never got the product. They said the products are good but customer service and shipping simply sucks. That's what has me worried.

I have been comparing pictures of both kits and it seems that both brackets where the control arms attach to are pretty much identical. Dimensions look to be the same. The only differences is the support bracket, which RC has their initials and is short while RR's is just a flat angled bar.

I'll never order from RR again, took 10 months to get my rockrails after excuse/excuse etc. And their bracket kit looks sililar to RE's.

I routinely see RE brackets for sale used.

RE is too much $$. $350 or $190 for the same product. I think i'll choose RC They have excellent customer service and next day shipping. I ordered from RC 3x so far and always got the product within 5 days.

Hey overland, where have you seen the used RE brackets for sale at? I normally browse a number of for sale forums but haven't seen these brackets on there yet.

I just spoke with RC's tech support:

[J.R.] Hello, how may I help you?
[Visitor] Hi there
[Visitor] My name is Chris
[Visitor] I have a question about the control arm drop brackets you guys have.
[J.R.] Ok, whats the ????
[Chris] I see that they are made for 4.5" of lift minimum. There are two other kits like this on other web sites for 4" of lift. Would yours possibly work with 4" too? I mean is that 1/2" really a big difference?
[Chris] I would rather order from you guys over anyone else because of my previous experiences with order from you were great.
[Chris] but wanted to make sure this would work before i do
[J.R.] Yup, they would work with a 4 inch also
[Chris] Now that's what i was hoping to hear. I guess you guys got me as a customer once again. Thanks for verifying that for me
[J.R.] no prob
[Chris] That's the only question i had and thank you for your time. You have a good one.
Looks like i'm going with RC.

NAXJA, JU, JeepForum, Pirate etc. As people upgrade to a LA suspension they tend to part their old stuff out... you missed mine by about 6 months i guess.

Darn it. I wish i thought about these back then but it's cool. I just ordered rough country's brackets today so it's all good. If jeepers creepers doesn't do a write-up on it, i will.

If you are determined to install drop brackets, then I think you picked the right ones. FWIW.

Yeah i guess so. i should be getting them sometime next week. RC always gets my stuff here in 3 or 4 days. As soon as i get em, on they go. That's IF my gf allows me to install them. They are a b-day gift...a little early

Got em. RC shipped them three days ago and they arrived quickly. Packaged very well and all hardware included. First jeep part that I got via mail that wasn't scratched up from shipping. That's a first.

Can't wait to get these on.
