Heater Blend Door Not switching from hot to cold air
I have a 2001 Cherokee and it will not switch from hot to cold air. The actuator motor for the blend door does not switch, although I have replaced it and that did not fix the problem. Is there anything else I should check?

The problem isn't the actuator motor, it's the plastic piece that physically actuates the flap. Check out this link:

As a ghetto fix, try switching the hot/cold **** to what you want, and crank the fan **** all the way up. The high air pressure in the plenum box should move the flap.

I have the same issue with my 01. Replaced motor with no change, replace control head, no change, but I could remove the motor, manually turn their blend door and remount the motor. Total PITA. Still don't have a solution.

For those of you with a 1999 thru 2001 XJ, here's a diagram of the Blend-Air Door circuit. Up to and including 1998 XJ the Blend-Air Door was cable actuated.
Connector C209 can be accessed by rolling the glove box down.
Ground G107 is to the right of the glove box on the dashboard structure.
The Blend-Air Door motor is an electronic bridge circuit. I have no method of checking it.
The integrity of the ground circuit to G107 can be checked with an Ohmmeter from C209 pin 1, Blend-Air Door motor connector pin 7, and/or A/C Heater Control connector C2, pin 2.
If fuse F25 in the JB was blown, the HVAC blower would not work. Power to the Blend-Air Door motor, A/C Heater Control, and/or connector C209, can be checked using a Voltmeter at the connector pins shown, with the ignition switch in the RUN position.
