Winter is in the air, my defrost is not working, Help.
I have owned a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport for the last 6 years and am thrilled with the performance. However given the age of the vehicle I am experiencing the expected problems that one runs into. My first being that I have noticed with the winter months upon us that my heat nor my defrost seem to be functioning. I have checked the anti-freeze and it test good to 25 degrees below zero. The thermostat seems to be in working order, and the Jeep has never had an issue with running hot or overheating. I have in the past run a leak sealing product through the radiator, this was apparent when I removed the cap noticing the build up athe the seal. I hear of some way you can clean the hoses from the interior? Help...

Assuming all the vents are in proper working order and the fan functions as normal, problem is in the heater core.. you can try doing a cooling system flush and even try blowing out the heater core seperately by removing both hoses at the thermostat and at the water pump and using compressed air to blow it out.. don't use too much pressure though.. see what comes out of it though and go from there...
