Angry Headliner Frustration

I am so frustrated with my headliner. My headliner was in bad shape to start but when I went to remove it the whole thing fell apart. I called around and went to junkyards but no one has a headliner. GRRRRR. Can anyone help me find one.

If you are refering to the fiberglass part which I refer to as the "shell" I would think you need to keep searching the J/Ys because it is too bulky to ship if you find one on the interweb. Don't think I have ever heard of one being made from scratch either. Sry!!

JC I think they should work from a different year Jeep so don't let you year model restrict your search.

You may have to expand your search to Miami and/or Jacksonville.

whats it look like under the headliner? can the bare metal just be painted and not look to horrible with sharp edges and such? it just seems like so much work for such a cosmetic thing I almost just want to rip it out.

Agree--why not have fun with it. I thought about vinyl flooring glued up there with some construction adhesive... Brick design? Hardwood design? etc

I wonder though if the thick fiber-based material (stock) has some insulating advantage??

If you want to play with fiberglass you could make a new shell for the headliner.. You can take your old one even if cracked in half and tape it then use fiberglass to fix it then remove the tape and should be able to cover it fine and reinstall. Fiberglass isn't as scary as it seems just wear thick rubber gloves, mask and plenty of ventilation and you are all good.
