To answer your question, I don't know.

But my (3rd party shop manual) does have the wiring diagrams (not always accurate when model change years) The (3rd party shop manual) wiring diagrams for my 98 ZJ are total bull****, even in the owners manual for the fuse box they're wrong, I had to got to the dealer for proper wiring diagrams).

I write these off as "its a Jeep thing" - if one is going to own one of these, they have to be prepared to (a) watch fluids and (b) work on them themselves now and then. Also, it helps to know a good Jeep guy for other things more complicated. Retail repair rates on an old Jeep will kill you in a hurry.

I tried to get a new connector / harness section tonight on the way home from work, but the yard closed off entry 5 minutes before I got there. Open to 5:00, stop letting people in @ 4:30, I got there at 4:35. Buggers.

My larger concern is if I have one connector showing this type of corrosion and pin / wire trouble, how many more will I find "just as fragile" and have to deal with (who knows, maybe its a one of situation (not likely)). For now, I'm trying to band aid this one and see if it restores proper function. Once spring comes, I will go thru the whole truck and repair or replace very connector if I have to.

I am familiar with Molex connectors and pin repairs / replacements so at least I've been there before. Or, I'll just jumper the damn thing if I have to.

As far as your specific questions I don't know, the "multi function switch" on the steering column could be an issue too. I'm told the 84 thru 96 were mostly the same (original AMC design mostly unchanged), 97 on Chrysler started messing with things. That's why I'm happy to have a 96, there are a zillion of them from that age bracket in the junk yards.

Its also good to have a second vehicle back-up if one is going to own / daily drive an old Jeep. I also have a 98 ZJ that's in pretty good condition, a few quirks, but it still gets me down the road.

Good luck on your bug solving, maybe add more symptom details and someone here will be more knowledgeable than I am with your particular situation.

i think my switch only has three functions my parking light, low beams and also serves as a dimmer switch noticed my turn signal switch is pretty loose and when i pull back towards me for brights turn on but it doesnt click and stay in position so not sure if thats where my issue is but it kinda makes sense though
