headlight issues with tail light issues .. TOTALLY BAFFELED
So here is the trouble that I'm having on my 1993 Jeep Cherokee 2 door (as if the numbers of doors matters fr this troubleshooting thread !! )
I am having issues with the tail lights and dash lights while the headlamps are on. Here is what I have replaced over the course of the last couple of months,
New headlight pull switch
New bulbs and headlights
new ignition switch ( the electrical portion on the top of the column)
Now on to what this Jeep id doing: If I pull the light switch out to turn everything on ONLY the headlights come on BUT....... if I slowly push it in a little and find the sweet spot in the travel of the switch I can get the dash and tail lights to come on with the headlights... It's a tricky balance... IF you hit a bump the whole Jeep goes dark... I thought it could be the switch again so I swapped it out for another ... still the same issue.
does anyone have an idea as to what I could be missing in this bastardized equation ???? Maybe a lazy relay or something .. I dunno... I SUCK at automotive electrics...

Man, that is a weird one and I am baffled too. I would have suspected the headlight pull switch as well. But if you have changed that twice, I doubt that's it.
