Passengers side headlight went out. do i need a whole new lamp assembley, or a can you just replace the bulb? I read somewhere that the lamps and bulbs are one piece and you have to replace the whole thing. Is this true?

It is a one piece assembly, but the replacement bulbs are not expensive. It will only take you a few minutes to take the old one out and replace it.

Hit it from the front. Just remove the headlight trim and that will expose the screws that hold it in. It's only four screws on my 95. I had both lamps done in like 15-20 minutes. If you have 40-50 bucks to spend on this, Sylvania Silverstars are a great replacement sealed beam light. I would replace both though if you are going to upgrade, wouldn't want one light brighter than the other!

From the front. There is a trim ring around the light that is held on by 4 screws. Some models use a torx bit for those screws, other use a phillips head. Just look at it so if you need the right tool you can get it when you go get the light. You may have to remove the plastic trim that goes around the headlight and marker light, but that is just a few screws as well.

Yep Silverstars. I use Sylvania's XtraVision lights which are the next step down from Silverstars and they even have a much better light output than stock. The only reason I got them was because there was only one Silverstar in stock that day and I was about to make a 1200 mile roadtrip. But I gotta say, I wasn't dissatisfied in the least even with the XtraVision. The upgrade sure it worth the extra cash IMO.
