I have a 98 4.0L XJ that i might be pulling the head to fix a valve problem. If i replace one valve i might as well do em all.
I'm calling around to a couple machine shops tomorrow to get some estimates. I would be doing all the work myself besides rebuilding the head.

So what kind of prices should i expect to hear for a head to be rebuilt?

I would like to be a little ahead of the game when i call.

what kind of rebuild?

decking? all valves? springs? porting? valve angle grinding?

depending on what you want will affect the price

Actually i am not really sure. As far as i know so far i would just need valves and a general overhaul cleaning and make sure everything else is good to go. Sorry i don't know the specifics of what i need yet,

hmmm. depending on what you want labor can range from 50 to around 300+ parts depending on what you need done

standard rebuild here, new seals, grind the valves and vat i was quoted $135-150
