Default Hard to shift after 35-45 Mph

Hey Guys, new to the forums

I have a 95 Cherokee 6 Cylinder 4WD with 208,000 miles on it give or take.

It is having trouble shifting when I reach 35-45mph. If I stop and turn the Jeep off then restart it has no issues shifting OR if I hit a large bump in the road. It doesn't doing anything when I give gas. It's like it's losing power. I'll reach 55mph and when I reach a hill, it starts slowing down to about 45mph.

All I have been able to do so far is change the trans filter, but the issue remains the same.

The good

1.Starts great
2.No issues shifting into gear. 2WD and 4WD
3.All gauges/lights and such work fine.

The bad
1.Exhaust need to be replaced, Catalytic Converter and muffler are bad.
2.CV joints and such need to be replaced.

I'm open for any help.

I'll be sticking around here as well, I'm rebuilding the whole damn thing.

It sounds like you may have a plugged cat.

Would that really cause that much of an issue? I had an idea it was the CC, but every one I have talked to in person has suggested something different every time.

Thanks for the response, I'll post back when I get that replaced and hopefully with good news.

A plugged cat can cause a huge loss of power, the other thing that can happen is the cat comes apart and ends up in the muffler, which also plugs up your exhaust, you said your exhaust system is in bad shape,so it sounds like it needs to be replaced anyway.

changed the fuel filter, the gas looked like light coffee. Cat/Muffler Pipes are ordered.

I think I'll go ahead and get new fuel pump and injectors after looking at the filter.
