Default gears 4.10s

so.. i have 2 carriers for a gm 12 bolt.. one has 3.40 gears 34 on the ring 10 on the pinion in it and one has 2.73 gears 41 on the ring and 15 on the pinion.. what if i take the 41 tooth ring gear and put it on the 10 teeth pinion.. 4.10 gears right? or is this too good to be true?

Will the teeth on the ring gear and the pinion gear match up? Is there any difference in the length of the two pinion gears?

You can't do this, absolutely won't work. The gears have to be matched when machined. The ring gears are different thicknesses for one thing, the other is the teeth will be different sizes.

yeah you have to get the gears in a matching set not a pinion from one and a new ring to make your own gear set it will not work and they will destroy them self's
