Default Gauge problems

Hey guys I just bought a 96 Jeep Cherokee Sport and I am having problems with the temp guage its pegged to the left. I changed the censor on the thermostat housing and the other sensor behind the dash pannel but my guage still isnt working. Any answers? It would really help because I have overheated twice now and almost blew my engine the second time.

Well if you are overheating I would forget about the gauge problem and focus on your cooling issues.

Yeah you definitely need to find out what's causing you to over heat first..You can always add an after market temp gauge..

redneck did you get air in your system while changing the sensor? You may have airlocked the water pump.

Water pumps pump water real well, but are terrible as air pumps.

1 out of 6 guages not working isnt bad.... I am 6 out of 6.... I really need to put that on my list of things to do..

Replacing tie rods this weekend, then saving up for 4 tires... guess #3 would be gauges..

It can be helpful to know whats going on under the hood. It is like driving with the windsheild painted black. You are blind to what is going on around you. Fix the gauges ASAP.
