Default GAS TANK help!

Ok my jeep isnt giving me the right readings, as i drive the needle goes down, and back up when i come to a stop. What is the Gas senors in the gas tank called? the senor the reads the level of gas

Not trying to steal your thread but I have this same problem but only when the gas gets below a quarter tank. Is this normal?

i think its normal, if i go and stop real quick my needle will move with the gas and when your sitting still it will read correctly, i think its just jeeps sensative floats

No I no its not that, the senors isnt giving me the right readings, it will say its empty when its not

sounds like you need a new sending unit, i dont believe you can just replace the float sensor i believe its all one piece, get one from a junk yard and put your old pump into the junkyard assy. and it should work fine
