20 for sure. Here in ny gas price is $3.27 a gallon but when it was down to $2.85 it cost me roughly $55 to fill up and yea i would get about 200miles to the tank being nice to it. crappy gas mileage

88 or 89 was the last year for the standard 13 gallon tank. 20 was optional then. 20's became standard after that.

All they did to lower the volume was to extend the filler tube down into the tank. I found this out after purchasing a new 20 gallon tank (that I promptly filled with 25 gallons of gas).

If you have a 13 and want a 20, most auto parts stores can get them fairly cheap. I hate getting these from junkyards just due to rust issues... Since the tanks are the same size, everything from your old tank, including the mounting straps will fit on the new one. Although I usually change the fuel pump at that point...

Of coarse you could just modify the filler to not go in so deep... Wish Id got pictures of the filler tube now.

55$ to fill up !!! I pay about 75-85$ for a full tank. It may be in Canadian dollars, but the exchange rate is about the same now! Someone run an american gas line to my house please!

the older model cherokee 87-90 had a better gas gauge and when the pin got down to the E then it was actually empty, but the newer ones seem to be deceiving as when you get close or down to the E u seam to have 2-3 gallons left of fuel. but i have gotten as much as 300 miles per tank out of my jeep lifted on 35's and 4.56's

20 gal. before they are crushed, or dented. Here's a site to contact Jeep. http://www.jeep.com/wccsapp/universa...ull&category=U Type in VIN #, And ask for the build sheet. It will take about two days for reply. But your build sheet will tell you everything your XJ came with originally.

But you guys still pay more. I went to Vancouver last October. In Washington state, gas was $3.30/US at the time, but it was $4.15/US in British Colombia.

Where I live gas is $2.91 atm and it sucks.

Petrol here is £1.30 per litre, so to fill my Jeep it's a shade under £100 or $155 usd

Or $7.75 per US Gal

Which sucks...
