AC quit blowing cold, blower cuts in and out
I just bought this thing yesterday. A week ago I test drove it two days in a row with no problems. Even yesterday everything was fine.
This afternoon the AC went from blowing a little cold to nothing. Also a couple times the blower fan stopped all together. Where do I start with this?

I'm figuring it's a vacuum line. It works for the first 5 or 10 minutes of a trip then gradually fades off. I'll trace the lines out with some propane tomorrow and see if I can find anything.

Is the fan still going, but nothing coming out? Does this happen on non AC functions. If not, then the AC is probably icing up and needs a little refrigerant so the coil won't be so cold.

More then likely its the hi lo switch they burn out. If it was vacuum it would default to the top dash vents. Or you wouldn't be able to change the vent position.

It's looking like a two pronged problem. I can play with the fan switch and get it to cut off sorta between speeds. I'm sure that's a lovely $100 or so from the dealership. Anybody got a part number for that?
And you're probably right about the low pressure switch. I jumped the two prong one at the canister but I've gotta figure out what's what at the compressor.

I jumped the hot wire on the compressor and everything blew cold. I started suspecting the switch on the dash since mechanically everything seemed fine. This is an awful design! You can see it's gotten hot and arcing has cooked the grease between the switch plates. I'm going to clean everything off and see what happens.

And it would probably look just like the one I have.
This one cleaned up well. It's about a 15 minute drive home and I had cold air the whole way. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

The fan still cuts in and out from occasional bumps. I guess I'll order a new switch. The electronic problems are frustrating! Otherwise, I'm loving the Jeep so far.
