Default fuel door release

I just bought my 1999 Cherokee sport today and i can't find where the fuel door release latch is or the one for the trunk besides the handle on the trunk. Can someone tell me where they are? Thanks and I know this is probably a dumb question I just can't find them.

yeah the fuel door is sneaky but i do think its a good idea and super different never seen another car like it

i think what dillon is saying is he thought the release was under that peice of trim right above the license plate

no i knew where the one on the back was but most SUVs can open the hatch from the inside like on the dash or on the inside of the back hatch

I understand now why you were confused.

Same thing happened to me. Looked in the glove box, under the seats, in the ash tray, etc. Almost called up the PO thinking that he broke it or something and then thought it would be a better idea to take another look at the door. Good thing I looked again!
