Not to mention the crappy anti-drain-back valves that will lead to dry starts (this is easily proven by everyone whose engine was noisy as hell on start up with a Fram and quieted down considerably after switching to a good oil filter).
On top of the extra crappy built quality Fram filters aren't even any cheaper than much better filters (Purolator Classic, Motorcraft filters, etc. are generally the same price or lower than the Orange-Can Frams) leaving absolutely no reason to buy a Fram (unles it is an emergency and that is all you can get and plan on changing it to something better ASAP).

bottom line: use what you want. But if most of the rest aren't using what you are, there just might be a good reason why.

I have no idea what was on mine, except that we both identified the stuff inside, even at the ends, as looking eerily like cardboard [and we got to see this because it would not come off, at all].
Won me the 'we're changing our own oil from now on' argument, though.
Can't wait to see if the awful startup noise goes away just by putting a better oil filter on.

All kidding aside, you said you have used Fram on all your rigs all your life ,,,OK now get out there and try different ones. I'm sure you will change your tune. But if you hard bent on using a Fram go ahead, it works for you. I just don't like them for reasons I stated in the vid.. I will keep on using anything but a Fram filter. Im with Cruiser>>>I will never encourage others to buy from a company that knowingly sold sub-par oil filters to unsuspecting Jeep owners under the guise of quality and a well funded BS ad campaign.
At time 6:45 in the vid you can see how the bypass valve wasn't even install properly. That filter wasn't even filtering it was just going right through the bypass. How would I have even know that valve was **** with out cutting it open to look..Oh yeah its a Fram no need to cut open to prove they are crap . They just proved themselves all over again to me..
You say you are 27 so hmmm, if you have your lic at 16, have had 9 rigs.. that means you had about one once a year.. Not even enough time with any of the rigs to sit and tell everyone that the Fram filter has worked for you on your rigs..cause you have no clue if they are still working or the person who has it now change it or not.. Oh well if They work for you then have at it, it just a car.. I was just showing why I don't like them, Just sharing my .02

Have you ever noticed what oil does to cardboard?

Since it's what I use for leak-spotting, yes. It doesn't stay very cardboardey for long. Which is great when it's just scrap for pinpointing leaks, but, I suspect, terrible when you're dealing with constant exposure for months on end in an essential-for-continued-function system.

Not one a year. There was a period where I had a Chevy s10 for 4 years and a xj for almost 3 years. One truck I had for a year and another bagged s10 for 2 years. The rest was just flipping vehicles but the ones I had for a long time I ran fram. And until I have problems with one or they go out of business I will run them. I have ran wix and Purolator but I still go back to fram. Ran a Purolator on my wife's cobalt, only because they didnt have a fram at the time and saw no difference in the Purolator from the fram.

I don't try to force ppl to agree with me. I just like to show what I have learned and hope someone will use my info to help them.. Threads are great to see what the majority of ppl say on the topic, untill it gets into a pissing contest. Then everyone gets pissy and the topic is lost in junk.

I didn't get pissy. I read your opinion and simply gave mine. People have to fight about what I want to use on my vehicle and that's their perogative. I wasn't trying to start any arguments, I just wanted to give my $.02 on the subject

Cool,, I wasn't saying you in particular. I was just saying that's what happens, ppl come in all with attitude and try to prove their point. Get pissed when ppl disagree, thats no fun, no one really learns anything.
