Honeywell dumped Fram off to the Rank Group in 2011.

Well everyone as we all know "You Can't Fix ST*%@D!" even with facts.
All the cheap oil change places use Fram filters or one from them without a name on it, because they are cheap by the case lots.

There are others out there, too.
STP etc. These mass merchandisers have filters built to their el cheapo spec, sell em like hotcakes to the unsuspecting public and greedy shops, and don't blink an eye.

For our XJ, I like the MotorCraft FL-1A and Walmart sells them for <$4.....that's cheaper than the Frams.
Again, I'm just curious from a sales volume standpoint, how Fram filters rank compared to the other major brands of oil filters.

Just pick up a Fram filter and then pick up any other filter and you can tell which one is the better made one.....
I never had anyone "Advise" me on what filters were better I just took a look at them myself and could tell the fram was made cheap, kinda like a cheap dollar store battery vs a duracell battery you can clearly feel how cheap they are.

Something tells me the largest retailer in the world has a business plan/inventory system that will not let any item "sit on the shelf" very long, otherwise it would be removed from the shelf and replaced with an item that does move/sell quickly. I would also think other stores that sell oil filters operate in a similar fashion......their large Fram filter inventory most likely moves quickly or else the Fram filters would be removed/replaced with a brand that does move quickly.

They are made by Champion Labs, who also make the oil filters for Royal Purple, Mobil-1, Mopar, TRD, VW, and others........................

So I heard to only use the tough guard fram IF you must use a fram. So my question is, without starting the argument all over again, should I finish out the next 3,000 miles on this oil change with my fram or do another change with a better filter soon? Mopar is sold near me so if like to get that one
