Ford Dana 44 front axle
So, I just picked up a High Pinion Dana 44 front axle for my heep. I got a matching Dand 60 out of the same truck. 4.10 gear ratio.
My questiona are:
1.) The steering components on the Dana 44 is on the drivers side, when the steering components on my stock Dana 30 are on the passenger side. How should i convert the steering either way to make it work?
2.) As for the bracketry, will the Rubicon Express "TJ AXLE BRACKET KIT FRONT" work. The bracketry kit is for a tj, but will it work with a cherokee as well?

usually when a lot of the jeep guys go full-width... they do a lot of custom fabbing and improvising......
one of my fellow jeepers in my area has his 97 xj setup with a ford 9" rear and he's finishing his HP Dana44 for the front... he's custom made his long-arms, long arm brackets coil spring buckets, track bar bracket and shock mounts and he's running a high-steer setup...
i don't know how difficult it is to find a "full width conversion kit" but just letting you know how i've seen some of these done

I don't know of any kits for $1.98 that are going to allow you to put these right in. You can buy "builders" parts, tabs for arms, coil buckets etc from several sources. You just get these pieces and go from there. One suggestion that may make it easier for you is consider going to a three link long arm suspension. That way you won't have to build a top link mount over the pumpkin on the front axle.

the kit is $400, but...
i was just wondering because the kit says its for a tj... are the front suspensions on a tj and a xj the same?
