Fix For Slow Rear Wiper.....
I just completed a fix for a slow rear wiper. I used as a guide a fix that was for a ZJ, but the mechanisms are similar in design and are plagued by the same problem, corrosion....
My rear wiper was going slower and slower, till it finally parked straight up. Not wanting to drop a C note on another unit, I thought I'd try taking it apart to see if I could resurrect it. Grind off the 4 "rivets" holding the gear case cover on, mark position of plastic gear in relation to the housing, drive out the shaft (from outside to inside), clean corrosion on shaft and housing, lube it up and reassemble. Use self tapping screws to retain the cover. Worked like a champ! My wiper has never been faster. We'll see how long this lasts.....
Sorry, but no pics other than this one....

I don't understand how you drove the shaft from outside to inside.
In the photo, the shaft is to the right of the (+) sign.
You're saying the shaft would be getting closer to the viewer?
I don't see how that is physically possible when that hinging arm is still connected
That is a splined connection and the shaft is wider on the other side.
