Finding lift height on my cherokee?
I purchased a Cherokee that seems to already have a lift. Maybe a crappy one, but its on 31" sized tires. I want to find what size lift it is. Is there a way I can measure and find out?
I am not sure what kind it is, but the rear is junk. Its rusty, noisy, and uses blocks it appears.
I would like to replace the rear with maybe a bastard pack or something and run at least a 33 or 35.
Suggestions on what I can do to get to this point

If you still have factory fender flares you can measure from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the fender flare. Stock height is 17.5" front and 17" rear.

^Correct^
Get rid of the blocks ASAP my XJ had a crappy lift with them when I bought it a 3" and coil spacers. Look for a full leaf/coil lift package that includes shocks, hardware. A quality, made in NA starter kit can be bought from Rustys a 3" for $438 complete package none of the made in China springs like most of the other kits.

If the rear is in crappy condition, the front should be given a thorough inspection as well.
Sometimes ya just gotta suck it up a spring for a new lift (no pun intended).

With that said. Once I find out, ill see if I can find a bastard pack combo that will get about the same.

This was posted today on another thread. HOPE it's not typical. A lot of money for used.
"Well change of plans I have been calling junk yards for prices and these guys are crazy. S10 leaf springs are $40-75 each and coil springs are $50 each, that is crazy."

Yeah its cheaper in the long run to just buy the Rustys 3" lift with new coils and leafs with shocks, hardware to do the install. That way its all new and you know what you will end up with. His are only $438 for a made in NA product with high quality springs.
You will be glad you went this route in the end and cost will be about the same.
