Default exhaust hanger

My exhaust hanger that's welded to the downpipe (at crossmember) snapped. What's a good way to fix this?

I had the same problem. The downpipe is like 60$ from rock auto a full exhaust refresh is less than 500 if I remember correctly.

Is that a mandrel bent down pipe? I have a header ordered and I'm getting ready to order tail pipe and muffler.

Its just factory replacement. The 4L doesn't need a mandrel bent tube. It would just be a waste of money.

I would replace the cat while you are in there as well.

Any idea what the difference is between a 99 & 00 down pipe? Theres like a $20 difference. My motor is a mix between a 00 & 94. The o2 sensors at manifold have been deleted.

I believe the only difference is when you have the California emissions package with 3 cats.

There is a difference. From what I can tell the 00 manifold is longer and has a 3 bolt flange where 99 and down has 2 bilt flange.

Interesting. My 99 had no flanges. Just two slip on joints.

Default Why It Broke?

Check the trans/transfer case rubber mount. if the hanger broke off the downpipe, it might be collapsed. That's what happened to mine.

You can buy a new hanger from auto zone that is meant for our jeeps and it just bolts on so you don't have to do any welding.
