Engine shut down when warm, no warnings (possible ignition)
'99 cherokee sport XJ (4.0 I6) - I'm driving one night and everything seems fine, then the engine just cuts off. I pull to the side of the road, and it restarts with no problems. The next morning, I'm driving, and again, with no warning, the engine shuts down. However, this time it won't restart, just cranks. 45 minutes later, after cool down, the engine fires right up and I continue to work. Later on, I'm driving, and the same thing happens with no restart. I hoof it back to work. After work, it starts right up. Once it's warmed again, it shuts off once again. The fuel rail is pressurized (spits fuel from the pressure tester valve). There is no spark from the ignition coil. However, when the engine has cooled there is spark, GOOD SPARK at that. I replaced the ignition coil today, but the problem still persists. Anyone ever had similar problems? Any suggestions? Help! All the while, there are no warning lights going off at any time, no check engine, no flashing code warnings, nothing.
