engine problem
I just bought a 1998 cherokee classic i took off the engine oil cap and i looked inside... i can see inside of it... does it need oil in there bc when it runs its like doesnt want to move and my antifreeze box is below add and i mix 50 50 and i put it in there will that box help cool my engine bc it is running hotttttt.....

If your really concerned about the heat, do a full fluid change, transmission, oils, antifreeze, any fluid you can find in that car, drain it, replace it. thats usually step one after buying a used jeep.
Did you buy the truck from a private owner or a dealership?
Dealers generally change all the fluids before you buy it, especially if its been sitting on the lot for a while.

I use a pennzoil filter, but to be honest, unless you are beating the **** out of your truck, it doesnt really matter, just keep up with oil changes.
10w40 high mileage oil, my truck has 170,000 miles, and im expecting to get another 170,000.
