Default Electrical problem with nice old 77 Cherokee

A friend has a 77 cherokee with a 401? v8 engine. His wife was driving it when all of a sudden it just shut off, no power. He had it towed home and has tried replacing the battery, alternator, starter and relay, maybe more. He said that the battery ground had rusted off and that he had replaced it but still nothing works. No lights work and no electric power to anything. I have not had a chance to look at it yet and see exactly what he has done with it and he is not very mechanically inclined although he has a repair manual for it. I am just checking in advance if anyone knows of common problems with these older jeeps to get a jump on where to start. I would really appreciate any help we can get with this because funds are low and he cant afford to take it in somewhere. Sorry about the long post. Thanks in advance, Dave.

Make sure the battery is charged up and the battery cables are in fact in good shape and hooked up correctly. I believe the AMC Jeeps used an electrical system similar to Fords of the era.
And Welcome to CF!

Cool

Also try testing the three fusable links on the starter post. They blue one controled power to more than half the fuse panel.
