Default Electrical fault, AC. ('95)

Hi, everyone!

I'm new to the forum, since I've only just obtained a Cherokee.
It's a '95 4.0L Limited.

I recently had a full service on the AC, and found that the blower motor needed a complete overhaul. So I did, and everything was hunky-dory and pure blowing joy for about 350 km.
NOW something is VERY wrong!
The blower motor works fine, and the entire AC does all it's supposed to do, AS LONG AS I DON'T START THE ENGINE?!?!?
Example; I set the blower at level three, AC at NORMAL, and heat distribution at mid level. Everything is fine. Then, as I turn the ignition further, and start the engine; the fuse pops instantly...

Frustrating, since I don't see any logic in this.

Can anyone help? Please

30 amp.
As I've been instructed.

I posted the same question on a motorcycle forum I frequently attend, and a guy there suggested I pulled out the connector to the AC-compressor, since he meant that it does not kick in until the engine is started.

Is this correct? Could the fault be somwhere in the compressor, and it's kick-in?

A friend of mine suggested that I disconnected the compressor, and waited to see if the fuse still popped.

It didn't.

So, I gather it's a grounding fault on my compressor. Anyone with experiences with this?
