Default Electric cooling fan?

Hey guys, my electric cooling fan is dead. I overheat in stopped traffic, have to crank the stupid defrost on full heat to keep it cool
the relay works, and there is power going to the fan but it doesn't go on.
I was quoted $150 to replace just for the fan alone! And I can't find one at the JY!
I just saw someone with this one, will it fit my 98 XJ 4wd 4.0?

hook up the fan directly to power and see if it turns on. If not it is fried, there is no way around replacement. Check local auto parts stores. You might be surprised.

It may be too small, your supposed to have 3,000 cfm coming from one for a Cherokee...I think...Tj

Are you sure the fan is dead, or is it just not turning on? You can test first, see if you can manually get the fan to engage.

things that can keep it from engaging:

1. AC out of pressure.
2. coolant temperature sensor bad
3. fan relay is bad

I've seen fewer actual electric fans bad than I have components, so you might wanna check first before you buy a new fan
