Dumb suspension question, but you never know til you ask.
So the entire rear suspension needs to be replaced on my 96 XJ. I have most of the parts on the way, I'll still have to pick up the leaf spring bushings when I get the leaf springs delivered next week. I got the shocks locally, today, since that was the best deal.
I like to get stuff done as soon as possible. Since I have the shocks, can I go ahead and put them in now without causing damage to them? The reason I ask is because the current old leaf springs are the originals with 214k miles on them and flat as hell. In fact, if someone is sitting in the back seat at all, the passenger side spring is inverted. O_o
