The weld repair is easy.

BUT there is alot of prep-work.

Mostly getting to it so you can weld it up properly.

What has to be removed:

door (of course)
and fender.

The factory welds aren't the culprits here.
The welds are intact...its the metal around the welds.

When removing the hinge (if it hasn't done that already for you)
DO NOT grind off the remaining metal on the backside.

I repeat DO NOT remove that metal.
WHY?

The jagged metal will act like a puzzle piece.
It will locate the hinge EXACTLY where its supposed to be.
No fussing or fighting to get the door aligned...the hinge will be EXACTLY where you need it.

What you DO want to remove is any seam sealer applied from the factory.
This is some nasty stuff. It is all around where the hinge is welded.
Removal of this junk and any paint and/or grease wi9ll allow a nice clean strong weld.

Several weld passes around the hinge will assure its solid.

SAFETY NOTE: Make sure you shield your dash and interior. Weld sparks can cause undo damage. That is unless you like that "smokey" smell.

Install door first. There are holes in the hinge to access the bolt heads for ajustment.

Before buttoning it up.... give everything a good coat of rust preventative paint.

Then...just button it all up.
