Does methanol burn cleaner than gas?
Failed a smog test by 7 ppm HC. Just need it slightly cleaner. Would running 10% meth clean it up at all?

I have run isopropyl with good results to pass a sniff test. Gauge on empty 3 or 4 bottles of heet. Filled the tank after testing.

Gaining a slight boost from an additive is a whole different animal than modifying emissions equipment...just sayin'

Methanol is different from ethanol. Methanol is in certain types of gas line antifreeze and destroys seals.
Ethanol is mandated in most places because it burns cleaner (aka E10 gas).
Go for it.
(Though have you done all of the emissions tuneup? No guarantee you will pass)

I run Methanol in several of my race motors in the past and with my twin turbo Dart block SBC to make run cooler at higher boost levels even with the air to water intercooler.

Ethanol is mandated in most places because of the corn lobby (aka E10 gas).
Go for it.

I've failed the smog test before, mostly from lack of driving. Not sure what kind of driving you do, but if it is not a dd or you don't go far, take it out and drive it like you stole it, then retest it.
