Default Does anyone make an aftermarket intake manifold for the 4.0?

I've looked around and haven't been able to find anything, but does anyone know of any aftermarket intake manifolds? I would imagine a company like Edelbrock or Offenhauser could make a nice improvement over the stock Jeep manifold. I've got a '94, and I've read about people using later model IM's, what years are swappable and is there much performance to be gained from the swap? Thanks Tony

No sir, No aftermarket intakes available, when you do the newer intake swap you use a 99 -01 intake manifold, performance gains have been said to be alot or very minimul. I have seen dyno read outs that said a 22 HP gain over the earlier manifolds though so I think the upgrade is worth it.

Even if you see minimul gains in hp/tq I know that the mpg increases due to better airflow efficeincy of the newer mani

So a 99+ intake manifold will bolt on to earlier 4.0L?

My buddy did something like that on his BMW and he saw a great amount oof difference so maybe it's worth doing

Does everything match up? I mean is it an easy bolt on, or do you have to switch out other parts to make it work? Thanks for the info by the way

I've not done mine yet and am still researching it, but i believe its all bolt on minus the throttle body. I think we need to reuse our original TB

Default intake manifold plus independant throttle bodies!

extrudabody.com has a complete kit its intake and throttle bodies its pricy but its worth it .......( The Kit is based on Clifford's Manifolds for either the Early or Late Motors. Manifolds dictate 45mm Straight or Taper Bore Throttle Bodies, Includes the I6 Silky Smooth Linkage system, filters, and TPS. Note: Injectors are not included.) $2.000 this is the only after market kit i see out there if i do find another one ill let ya know! heres a pic of it alone and on the motor!

I have a stock (besides the 4" lift) 01' 4.0 and have been drooling over this piece for a bit. Do you happen to have a pic with the rig installed in the truck? I would greatly appreciate it if you'd post it just so I could see how it all came together!

It depends on what yr. that yours is, for earlier models a 99 intake is better as the 00/01 models have coil rails setups on them and no dist. JMO and means very little lol.

I swapped an 01 intake onto my 97. you need to do some voodoo to the vacuum line fittings and connections, other than that's it's a direct bolt on. I noticed no improvement in anything.

Gotta love misinformation like this. The 99-01 manifolds do not have any runner differences within the three years. Also, this guy has the same understanding of "ram air" as he does with spelling.
