Just broke the pinion in my 8.25. Got another axle from a junkyard. All seems well with the axle and diff, but we cut the brake lines and are planning to re-use my originals. I notice that one of the inserts (circled) does not have a nut to loosen like the rest, what would be the best way to remove this without cutting or ruining something? Any help here would be much appreciated!

That's the little union fitting to split the rear brake line to each slave cylinder. It's a pressed/clamped fitting, pretty sure you cant remove it. you need to remove the two brake lines from the little block then remove the entire union block.

x2. Undo the hard lines from that block and then replace it with the one from your previous axle. The block and soft line are one complete unit. If you already have/plan to lift the Jeep, I would recommend getting the rear soft line from a 99 Dakota. It's longer than the stock one and bolts right in.

To add to the info the block should be bolted down, so look for a bolt head.

That little box came right off, for some reason I thought it was part of the axle. For my first time doing this, it's not going too bad. Ready to drop the broken axle tonight and install the "refurbished" one. Aside from bleeding the brakes, is there anything else I should keep in mind? Thanks again for the help.
