Are you positive you didn't get a wire wrong?

yea, i would double check and make sure you have the right spark plug wire going to the correct connector on the distributor cap.

i just replaced mine...took about 45 mins b/c I replaced 1 spark plug at a time, then changed each wire one at a time, then finally replaced the cap and rotor...plus its freezing outside

I'm replacing my wires, plugs, cap and distributor today. So I should be able to just replace it and follow this diagram? I've never changed one before and lots of the write ups I've read were as if you were putting one on with out taking the old one off turning the engine to TDC and a whole bunch of confusing stuff

Thanks

yes sir, you can follow the diagram. but the easiest way would be to change each plug and wire one at a time, then install the new cap by looking at the old one if that makes sense. it'll take longer but imo its worth it to make sure you get it right the first time. and the wires are probably going to be different lengths so make sure you put the right ones on

That's what I ended up doing changing them one at a time it all went smooth except one started to cross thread but was fine. Also got the wrong rotor from the parts store runs a lot better now!
