hi have problem only joined couple of days ago and had no trouble with jeep but gear shift wernt lightin up went out in it earlier tonight and it started working turned dash lights up and everthing lit up really bright parked up for about half an hour restarted to drive home now no lights on dash ,gear shift ,washers,except turn indicators interior lights working also any ideas fuse light switch ?anyone had same prob thanx.

I had the same problem with the '98, except I lost power to all the gauges too. I never figured out what happened, but it fixed itself and I stopped worrying. I wish I could help you out here, but now you got me all interested on what happens so I can maybe find what caused mine!

Had the same problem just this week,Air bag light would come on all guages would stop working...it would do this off and on all day now everything has worked perfect for a couple of days. I did some research and found some one who had the exact same problem his result was to remove the cluster wire connector and clean it.

davy I think yours is related to the light switch. If you can't find a bad fuse then I would replace the headlight switch and you should then have dash and console lights.

i think it might be the switch as fuse does the door buzzer too and thats working ok so im gonna have switch off in morning and have a look many thanks
