Question 2800rpm problem

Have a 2000 Cherokee auto 4.0 with 118k. At idle and under normal acceleration it is running rough but nothing outrages. the real problem comes when your putting power into it. When you put your foot down full pull at 2800rpm the engine bogs down. It does not feel like a carb problem it feels more like your hitting the rev limiter. I have never tried to push through because I don’t want to damage any thing. Any Ideas? Changed the plugs with no notable change.
Thanks

You have a carb on a 2000?

What happens to the fuel pressure?

have you cleaned your throttle body? Really clean it by taking it off and removing all the sensors and scrub the snot out of it... make sure you let it dry. Try to use something like carb and choke cleaner or mineral spirits otherwise what you use might start to oxidize the TB.

Question

Well by your responses i would say this truck does not have carbs. its a friend truck and he just asked if i had any ideas. that's when i thought i would ask you fine folks.

Ad another system to the mix the jeep is running muck cooler then normal in the 160 range. well at least that's what the gauge says.

Thanks

Well I would get a new tsat see if that fixes if not get a new temp sensor.

As far as the bogging down...clean the throttle body and get new cap/plugs/wires/little thig inside of the cap... The name is escaping me right now.
