Cooling Fan Question - Runs
My Electic Cooling Fans runs 24/7
From start up to shut off, it is always on
Is it suppose to be running all the time?

You might get your codes read at a parts place for free. I think by 99 it's tied into even more stuff than our pre 91's. (for us it comes on with the AC, or defrost, or when the temp passes 218*).
Just finding and changing it's relay might be cheap and easy for starters. Agreeing with turbo, look for "hacked" wiring. (or a jumper at the relay)

You might get your codes read at a parts place for free. I think by 99 it's tied into even more stuff than our pre 91's. (for us it comes on with the AC, or defrost, or when the temp passes 218*).

You could just wire a switch up to it for a quick fix. Also, it may sound stupid, but your a/c isn't on all the time is it?

If/when you remove the cover from the Power Distribution Center (PDC) you'll see the layout and identification of the relays in the PDC. The radiator electric fan relay will be shown.
It's a common ISO relay, available at the auto parts stores. If you want, you can pull the fan relay and swap in the fuel pump relay, turn the key to RUN, and see if the fan does not run anymore. If so, replace the original fan relay and put the fuel pump relay back where it belongs.
If the fan continues to run with the fuel pump relay in the fan slot, there's a problem in the fan relay control circuit that will need to be addressed.
Let us know how you make out.

Will Me Fan always on -even w/ key off. I am looking for the other fan relay s'posed to be under driver headlight. cannot get to it even with head light out.. looks like you have to take part of fender off,part of grill out and inner wheel well guard. pain in ***,, If I cannot spot the lol sob real soon-going back together and to mechanics,, yikes !! FOR NOW YOU CAN DISCONNECT FAN RIGHT UNDER PASS SIDE RAIATOR HOSE.. good luck

Jame, with your info filled out you might try the "ask a question thread" to find your relay. In the meantime jiggle and inspect your wiring....might be there is a wire from that relay that will activate it if it's grounded. If it stops when you move some wires, maybe something chaffed and grounded.

FAN ALWAYS ON
fOUND FAN RELAY- BEHIND PASS SIDE HEADLIGHT.. UNPLUGGED AND FAN STILL ON.. NEVER GOT A CLEAN READIING ON TEMP CONTROL SWITCH..i SUSPECY WIRING DEFECTIVE. .YES I SWAPPED OUT RELAYS IN CONTROL POWER CENTER .. '99 4.0 JAMES
