And if it worked for you, it should work for everyone, right?

So I did everything according to the instructions, but for some reason the threads on one side did not thread into the Fram PH3614. it did thread into the engine side threads, but not the filter side? Anyway, I found a filter that works great, and is a tad beefier than the Fram. It is a WIX filter 51381 sold at Oriellys. It's shorter, but the canister has a greater over-all diameter. The filter O-ring or gasket is a perfect diameter. You will have to grind a tiny bit of metal, about and 8th of an inch around near the shock absorber sub frame to make it turn easier, and give you a tad more clearance. So far no problems. Great oil pressure, no leaks, no oil all over the place confusing you, no oil on the driveway, and no purchasing gaskets that never seem to work right. Hope this helps. Thank you for the instructions on eliminating this nightmare.

Its been about 3-4 years since I have had any problems. The key is having good motor mounts and grinding away enough clearance. I did not grind enough on first attempt.

Now have over 30,000 miles with no problems, would never go back to old system. Suggest 3/4" clearance.

Cheers

His problem was that he had a FRAM filter. They are garbage.

this is really the only worth while fix and can be done after the stupid Toyota filter mod just costs $20 more. Replacing the o-rings is easier than any thing you can do.

I'm curious, what exactly I'm looking at here?
I see the vacuum ball, pretty nice mounting location I have mine under the pressure bottle, but what's the other thing? I thought maybe a replacement to the pressure bottle but I'm not sure.

It's a remote oil filter kit and was almost bolt on. It would have been if it was left stock but had to buy two 1/2 npt 90* fittings for $20. And then had the modify one so I could tighten both down.

After everything I'm out $90 but also don't have to worry about smashing oil filters and leaking oil everywhere.

Nothing rubs, everything works. What's the issue?

My factory harness has no place to go, since i have swapped over to a open cooling system and have a factory overflow bracket been like that for years.
