Anyone know the correct stereo head unit for a 2000 Limited XJ
I recently bought my first XJ and am fixing it up a bit. I am trying to track down an OE stereo but am having trouble finding out what it came with. I already bought one that that has infinity gold on it but I think that may have been for a Grand Cherokee cuz the mounting holes don't line up. Thanks in advance.

My guess is cause it was a Limited would be the CD/cassette one.

Do you have the Infinity Sound System in your Jeep?
The only thing I am not sure about is what that little white connector is for.
What I think is the exact same radio without that little white connector.

Lower end Jeep would have this one.

And picture that radio without the cassette and maybe without the sliders for the equalizer too.
Can't remember for sure and could not find a shot of one.
But that would be in the most basic of Jeeps.

Cause I think that is the radio at the third link in my post.
IMO that would be in a more basic Jeep. Like a Sport not a Limited.

That should work but seeing you have a Limited thinking it would not be the radio that came in it from the factory.
That is the radio that came in my Cherokee Sport.
Mine being a lesser optioned model compared to yours.
You never did answer my question about the Infinity Sound System.
Also there is a variety of Mopar radios that do fit.
And a lot of ones that look similar but don't.
It is not just the connections on the back but the mounting points for the radio.
As you have discovered.
Like I said I think you want this one. Already sold but just to show you what I am talking about.

so I am not real sure how to tell if it has infinity. It has two speakers in the roof near the back and a Sony xplod amp under the seat but that is aftermarket so not sure if a factory amp was under there. Regardless. I don’t think I need a CD player as they usually go bad and eat my cd’s anyway. So thanks Ralph77 , I think you’ve givin me enough here to go on. Appreciate all your time.
If you have the tweeters in the doors where the mirrors are then you do.
Most likely. But they can be added to a regular Jeep too cause the wiring is there for them.
I did to mine. LOL.

Remember that most basic of radios I was telling you about without even a cassette player?

Oh and here is a CD only one that should work.
But I don't think that this is an XJ radio despite the guy saying it is.
I think this is a TJ radio but not really sure about that.

Just happen to come across them stalking the Marketplace so figured I would post them. LOL.

Well for the most part I agree with you... I still have the stock unit that I took out...I was getting ready to do a lot of long distance traveling and I already had the unit from the previous vehicle I had it in... And at that point didn't have unlimited data on my phone to use navigation that way.... so I tucked this one in there. And it has really come in handy. It wasn't an upgrade just b/c I could... it was something I really needed to use. That being said, I generally like keeping the rest of my old XJ pretty stock on the inside.
Actually it doesn't look like it in the picture...but in person, when you're in the truck and the unit is off...the dark screen actually blends into the background and you don't really notice it much unless you're staring right at it.

The Limited's standard radio was the A/M-F/M radio with a tape deck (sales code RAS). The optional unit was an A/M-F/M radio with a tape deck, CD player, joystick for the fader and balance controls, and a three-slider equalizer with amber lights on three sliders (Sales Code RAZ). If you have tweeter speakers i the upper corners of the front doors, then likely your Jeep originally had the latter radio. You can run your build sheet with Jeep to check, but both will work, and will look right at home in your XJ's dash.
Here's an RAS (the base radio): https://www.ebay.com/p/1728585455
And here is an RAZ (the upgraded radio): https://www.ebay.com/p/1823074252?thm=2000
