Default close to overheating

Took her out for a long cruise today, to do a little fresh motor break in. I ended up getting stuck in traffic. Keeping an eye on my gauges, I noticed my temp creeping over 210. It's never done that before so I kicked open the vent to blow some heat, to keep her calm. I got home safe... applied power directly to the fan... Works! Pullingd the relay and applied power to it... It .Kicks on/off. What else could it be? I did probe around in the PCM a little. According to lunghd, pin 5 to ground should have continuity... I did not! Where did it go?

On the bright Sid I fixed d my low beam issue while I was in there.

Every fresh engine I have ever installed ran warmer until everything seated and friction was reduced to normal. New Marine Engines are the worst because of such tight tolerances.

So the "fresh motor" is the reason my aux fan never kicked on?

No, I'm guilty of not reading it correctly. Somehow I took it that your fan Was also working properly. My fault.

It s all good. Just trying to massage out all the bugs, since it's back on the road. I have more problems now, after the motor build, than I did beforehand. I'm down to the little amount of coolant I lose (don't know where) and the aux fan not kicking on. I also need to recharge the ac still, so that works again.

Default Continuity?

Curious? I am guessing you already swapped the relay with a working one to check it but might want to check the continuity of the wire running through the loom to the fan. I know I have pulled or pinched many a wire in hard to see places doing engine R&R work

I'm trying to find a circuit diagram for you now.

I didnt try another relay per-se. I pulled out the relay and tested it with a power supply and multimeter and it functioned like it is supposed to. A pinched wire could very well be the cause. I have a Haynes manual to my left and a 95 FSM sitting in my lap.

That circuit has to be closed to ground in order to make it think the A/C is on right? or is there a second circuit from the switch? lol
