Clearwater cylinder heads

FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND, THIS IS THE DEATH OF OUR BELOVED 4.0 I-6. DIAMLER WANTED TO BRING THE 4.0 INTO THE FUTURE, AND ADDED COIL-PACKS, MOUNTED ON THE HEAD. (WHICH REQUIRED A NEW CASTING).
(I GUESS, FOR BETTER FUEL EFFICIENCY)
THE GERMANS WENT CHEAP ON THE CASTING DESIGN/PRODUCER, AND BETWEEN THE #3 AND #4 CYLINDER (AT THE HEADBOLT HOUSING), FAILURE IS COMMON. 10 LBS OF RE-ENGINEERING , IN A 2 OUNCE SACK. (JUST TO ACHIEVE MINIMAL GAINS OF EFFICIENCY.

ALL KUDOS TO ODESSA, BEING SAID, 455 DOLLARS IS NOT THE END ALL, TO GO MUDDING NEXT WEEKEND.........
IN MY 2000 XJ'S CASE, THE #3 CYLINDER WAS NOT FIRING (DUE TO A BAD COIL PACK BOOT)
THE TIMING CHAIN AND GEAR HAD MORE SLACK IN IT THAN THE JAGUARS DEFENSE
THE WATERPUMP HAD FAILED AT THE BEARING
THE OVERFLOW HOSE WAS TOTALLY PLUGGED WITH SCALE AND RUST
THE CLUTCHFAN WAS SUSPECT
ALL TEMPERATURE SENSORS WERE SUSPECT
THERMOSTAT WAS SUSPECT
I DROVE IT 60 MILES (ONE WAY-TO WORK) AT 75 mph, FOR MONTHS.....AND ONE DAY, WHEN I BACKED IT INTO A SPOT, THE TEMP WENT FROM 210 TO MAX, AS I WAS PUTTING IT IN PARK. ZERO WARNING.
WATER IN THE OIL.
IN PREPARATION TO THIS HEAD, UNTIL COMPLETION, I ESTIMATE $2000 OF HARDWARE (OVERALL). ALL WORK DONE, AT HOME.
I WILL START A NEW POST WITH WHAT I HAD TO INVEST WITH MY SITUATION. JUST WANTED TO PROP CLEARWATERS ODESSA 2000 XJ HEAD. GREAT PRODUCT, COOL DELIVERY, AND DID MY TRANSACTION OVER THE PHONE. NO CORE CHARGE!!!!!! I JUST SENT MY P.O.S CRACKED HEAD BACK TO THEM WITH THE LABEL THEY SUPPLIED.
P.S..... IT WEIGHS 86 POUNDS
