Are you trying to remove the entire console?

It`s mainly just unscrewing screws and pulling it up..If you need to remove the shift lever handle don`t ask me how because I havent figured out how to get that thing off in 10 years and have destroyed several in junkyards trying to figure it out.

The shifter handle just simply pops off. They can be stubborn and require some force at times. You have to put your hands under it on each side and hit it hard with an upward motion. Just make sure not to whack yourself in the face with the handle and give yourself a black eye.

Pull straight up hard and carefully. If the spring does pop out, your can pop the trim around the button off and reinstall everything. First one I did, I did the hard way, pulled the button off, let the spring and plastic piece come out, still had to pull straight up.
