Default CCV Elbow

About to go buy my felpro VC Gasket at advanced in a little bit and figured I would get new CCV/PCV valves and grommets for when I do the job. Problem is, I'm getting confused trying to find the right part number from any threads on the forum for a 1999 cherokee so I'm looking for a little guidance.

So far what I plan on getting is

VC Gasket - VS50458R
Rear PCV elbow - 47057
Front CCV Elbow - Hopefully somebody can help me out here
2 grommets for the elbows - 42344

Anything else i'm missing here? And anybody know an actual part number for a 99(Guessing its all the same for 97+)

I've found a part number 47079 for a front CCV elbow but advancedautos website says it won't fit a 99.

There are no PCV (or CCV) valves on a '99.

This has been covered in detail in fairly recent threads that a quick search should turn up.

The problem is that the parts catalogs call it PCV etc.

The rear has a restrictor on the valve cover end. The front is open. Both have the same outlet.

Generally the front elbow which is the one that usually has problem is dealer only. However, you CAN buy a rear elbow and simply use a good set of pliers and pull out the restrictor. This works with the NAPA rear elbow, which is a reboxed dealer part (with the dealer star).

Part, dealer part number, NAPA Echlin part number
Valve cover grommet, front and back 2946079 CRB 29131
Front VC elbow 53030991 CRB 29574 remove restrictor
Rear VC elbow 53030495 CRB 29574

If you remove the restrictor, the only difference is color. The front dealer part is black and the rear is gray. If you modify NAPA rear to make a front, you'll have two gray.

Thank you! Didn't know you could just pull out the restrictor.

I'm still interested to see these threads and what you have to say about this. Think i'd be a little entertained.

Do you know if there's any difference in the parts with the ones from advanced I posted? Napa doesn't have those in stock and i'm looking to do this tomorrow.

If I can rip off the restrictor from the advanced one I'll just go with that one. Thanks again.

Don't over complicate this. I got new ones from Oreilly. They were Dorman parts. Front part #47079, rear part# 47057. I don't have a # for the grommets.

Nobody is overcomplicating anything. Part number 47079 says it will not fit my 99, so therefor made me ask this question.

Is there something wrong with being 100% on what I'll need when doing the gasket on my daily driver that I'll need the next day?

Nope, nothing wrong with that at all. Must have missed your year. Mine is a 95. Have at it.

Hmm, 47057 is listed for jeep,1994-2004, and dodge 94-03. 47079 is listed for the dodge only. It is the open one with no restricter. These are the one that I am currently using and will continue to use. They should work fine for you. Not sure why 47079 is no longer listed for jeeps.

Thanks for the help, I'll just grab that one and see how it goes. If anything ill just order that napa one and pull out the restrictor.

Hopefully those Dorman part numbers will work. If not, at least you have another solution that doesn't involve the dealer.

You can just plug it and drive to work, as long as the large tube is free to vent to the air cleaner. The CCV can wait a few days until it's in stock.
