Default cb location

I have a cobra model 29 cb. where is the best place to locate it? And if in the headliner, what hardware should i use so i don't go through the roof? btw I have a 01.

I mounted mine between the visors and used 3/4 " long screws. Pre drill them also. In the first pic you can see the brkt is alligned with the frt of the visor "clips" there is metal framing in this spot under the headliner. Make sure you mount it to this area.

had mine in the same spot.... but i didnt like how it was angled upward... i leveled mine out

This is where I have mine located that way it protects my noggin in case of a roll over or flopping on my side ...Besides I hated the cord flying around inside the jeep & the mic falling down

I am going to mount my 29 like grn99 did, my antenna is now mounted where the factory tire carrier bracket was on the right side.

got mine in the overhead console, cant find pics at mo, but its nice and out the way.
but you do loose the garage door opner draw and sunglasses draw thing.

I will post a picture up soon on how I ran my ant. wire on my 01 I had a soft plug that I manage to feed the wire threw I will ck on pre 97 if you can go threw the tail light assembly that way your not pinching the ant. cable

Mine was mounted at the front of my shifter console.Your interior setup is prob different than my 89 though..
