Can this be rebuild

Go back and re read the post. I believe I mentioned the option of parting it out. Which is just fine if you want to spend a whole bunch of hours dismantling your wreck, storing parts and marketing them on craigslist, eBay or other sites. Maybe the OP wants to take on that business? Personally, I've got better things to do than spend a couple weeks or months dealing with wrenching and selling components off of a wreck. How long do you want to wait for the break even point? The major value is in the drive train. That's a major effort for someone who does not have the means to yank that stuff out and move it around. In the end, let's say a couple months from now, maybe you managed to part out enough to make a couple hundred bucks. Ya gotta consider if that's worth the time, hassle and mess. It doesn't matter where you live, it's a PITA for limited returns.
But yes, if you don't have the resources to part it out it's not practical. But for $600 someone would love to get it and either fix it or part it. If I were closer I'd be headed there with a trailer right now.

Look before you leap. He had to sign the title over to the insurance company.
In my state, you can't even scrap a hull if you don't have the title for it.
When they paid him off, they own it. It's not his to say what happens to it now.

I fixed mine!
I can't see your pic though. App usually let's me download it but I can't even do that.
Anyways, if the inner fenders are smashed it makes the job a bit more difficult, I had to cut am inner fender out of a parts jeep and weld it in. Then I beat the other side back into shape. I'm going to eventually weld a new inner fender on the other side too because it doesn't line up like I'd like it to.
Other than that it was just a matter of new hood, fenders, header panel, etc.

When he buys it back from the insurance company he'll get a salvaged title to go along with it...

They might run it through an auction to see if they can get more out of another bidder. Insurance companies are all about the money, as they should be.

They aren't going to try to auction anything. Time is money.

The way I interpret the threads, he only said salvage value is $697.00. I don't see anywhere he said the insurance company actually offered it back to him for that.
He also hasn't actually said he is going to do it. They may be giving him first dibs on it, but if he doesn't commit pretty quick they will tow it out of the impound lot to stop the storage fees and likely take it to an auction.
That's how insurance companies work.

Though, I agree if he doesn't act fast it will be gone.
You said that they'd try to take it to an auction first before they let him buy it. That's not the case, the owner is going to get first dibs. 99% of the time I would buy a wrecked vehicle back mainly because I'd still have well over the salvaged value in the Jeep in aftermarket parts that were still perfectly fine.
Also, as long as I'm physically able, I'd NEVER let a wrecker tow any vehicle of mine to a storage lot. They could either tow it to my house or tow it out of the road and I'd have someone come get it. Allowing a vehicle to be towed to a storage lot is asking to be scammed. Until the insurance company totals the vehicle it still belongs to you and you say what happens to it.
If you have them tow it to your property the vehicle will likely never leave your yard if they total it and you choose to buy it back. Been there, done that.

Didn't have airbags, it's a 91 probably would've blown them if it did have them though. It was a hard hit. Glad I seen him coming and hit the brakes/cut the wheel or he would've hit me in my door.
As far as the title goes in my situation, Indiana doesn't require a rebuilt title for any vehicles older than a 97 so I didn't even have to make a change.
I got a check for $1600 and only played like $340 to buy it back. It was lifted 3.5" with 31s and alloy wheels at the time.

Lowrange2, see my post #20. I just went through what he is going through. Even though the airbags didn't blow in mine, in the end I let the Grand go.
It had a good drive train, 4X4, and engine in it too.
I think I basically broke even, before the deductible.
