camshaft position sensor problems
Well my check engine light came on the other day so I went over to autozone to have them read the code. It turns out it was the camshaft postion sensor. I had never heard of it but it is located on top of the Oil pump driveshaft assembly. Located right near the oil filter.
I wasnt having any real problems so I was driving it all day then i got it home and was firing it up and it wouldnt start. So i took off the sensor and kinda blew it out then re installed it. It fired up once then i shut it off and then tried it again. It wouldn't fire. So i took the sensor off again to find that the sensor magnet had broken loose and hit the metal half ring that spins this totally destroyed the ring and the bottom part of the sensor. So it looks as if im going to have to buy a whole new Oil pump driveshaft assembly.
I only have one pic and its not that great but the camera died so more pics tomarrow.
This is a pic of the bottom part of the sensor you can see the ring pushed out. Again not a good pic i will get more tomarrow. I just thought you guys would like to see this uncommon problem.
