How do I correctly bypass the NSS? Not permanently, just as a test to see if its bad.

Got a 91' cherokee 4.0 auto. I just bought it and drove it home without issues. Next day it started fine but just 5 mins later did not start. Next day did the same thing. Now it won't start at all. The starter makes no noise at all. The new starter relay does click so its good.
I've put new battery clamps on it as well as a new starter and solenoid (bench tested fine) , and a new battery, starter switch, also cleaned the ground to the block.
All of the electrical works fine. Fuses are good.
Still nothing.
Just wanted to bypass the nss to see if that's it before I go through rebuilding the nss.
That's my story.
I have another thread similar to this but the posts started getting off the main track.

I am sure you have tried pushing the shifter forward and in neutral?
The only way I can think of to bypass it would be to unplug it in the engine compartment and jumper the wires,I have no idea which ones though.

Someone in another thread said to jump the 2 black wires. Is that correct? If so does that mean to cut the black wires on the nss side, join them, and leave the harness plugged up , or, unplug it totally and put a jumper wire on the harness side where the black wires would have gone??

I would like to say yes but I would have to look at a diagram first,but I would be careful jumpering wires without knowing,it could cause damage to the pcm,I know onw person here that might be of more help. Contact Frankz,he has alot of diagrams an knowledge in this area,if I get the time today I will see what I can find.

Move the shifter thru its full range very quickly half a dozen times or so, then try starting it again.

Could still be really dirty contacts in the NSS.

getting voltage at the solenoid? check the continuity on the NSS, could tell you if the contacts are dirty. im guessing b/t those pins where you would jumper.

I was thinking of cleaning mine but never have done it before. I found this article but its for AW drive and not sure if its the same as the standard 4wd and dont know enugh to say if this is good advice or not. Maybe Frankz could take a look and tell us what he thinks, if he doesnt mind?
