96 yes, 97+ I believe there is a difference in where the strike for the door is. I know it has been covered in this thread.

That site lists 16 as 4.0, but now I know what parts to look for. V8 models.
-- you need the 24a (which is for V-8 ZJ)...or at least the 14 & 15 of the 24a.

I got mine at the junkyard out of a V-8 ZJ

Of the 3 24a listed, two are for RHD and one is full crossover steering. I know this is the JY thread but I cheated and got 14, 15, and 16 from the auto parts store. All for a '96 ZJ 4x4 5.2.

Well... for the steering, the term "Junkyard" is a relative concept. It's actually not recommended to pull those parts from a junked jeep - 'cause they'd be worn out and most likely in need of replacing anyway. No point in payin for the parts twice... unless that's your hobby I guess.

How do those tires ride down the road thinking about putting some pivot tires on my xj but don't want it to ride terrible down the road

Junkyard leafs will either be equally bad or on their way to that state. New ones won't keep you happy long if you plan to keep the Jeep, and aftermarket leaf springs aren't that much more expensive

The guy posted that 5 years ago. I don't think he's even on here anymore. I really really really really really really really (did I say really?) don't recommend welding coil springs together in any jeep that you're going to drive on the road. Springs are tempered and heat-treated and welding them will certainly change the structural integrity of the metal. Trail-only vehicle, yeah sure maybe. I still wouldn't do it though.

Yup. Been there, done that, waste of money that's better spent on better mods.

BUT! He said his mains were jacked up. Maybe he's going for the bastard pack setup. If that's the case, I'm not sure what your local junkyard charges for leaf packs, but mine charges $40 a pack. So if you get 2 XJ packs from the JY and 2 s10, durango, or dakota packs, you're looking at 160 bucks (+tax) and whatever cost for the materials for you to rebuild them. Sof for around 250 or so, you could get yourself about 2.5-3.5" depending on what leaf configuration and what shackles you use.

Meanwhile....
Amazon.com: Rubicon Express RE1463 3.5" Leaf Spring for Jeep XJ: Automotive Amazon.com: Rubicon Express RE1463 3.5" Leaf Spring for Jeep XJ: Automotive

Buy two of those, save yourself some time and headache, and come out about even or spending a little more and getting a better product.

Just sayin.

It's possible, but it's not just a simple bolt-in and go. It requires modification.
