Brake Line
I need to replace the rusted brake line in my '00 XJ from front to rear, where is the best place to buy a complete, high quality brake line for this job?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Too much. Go to Napa and buy the following.
1 - WH 1441
1 - WH 302 x 3
1 - BK 8135612 or CN320
3 - BK 8135615 or CN351
1 - BK 7769000
1 - SER 161A
1 - UP 38894
1 to 2 - 35012
So I own a '00 XJ. Did every thing from the proportioning valve back when I did a complete, and I mean, complete rear brake job. Just break down and do it all.
WH 1441 is the adapter you will need to attach to the small line that goes into the proportioning valve.
WH 302 x 3 is what you will use to connect the two lines to make up the one long line going from the proportioning valve to the rear brake hose. Doing it as two lines is easier and will be fine with the connector.
BK 8135612 or CN320 and BK 8135615 or CN351 is the premade brake line I used to do this job.
BK 7769000. Tool I used to shorten the premade brake lines.
SER 161A. This is the tool I used to flare the premade brake lines after I shorted a couple a bit. Was just easier and cheaper then buying the whole roll and the flares to go with it because I did not need that much.
UP 38894. Rear hose.
35012. Dot 3 brake fluid.
So when you cut the brake lines you will want to debur both the inside and outside of the tube with a file. Sure you can find a video to watch somewhere. I can't say for sure what lines I use where because I am working off my receipt. But if I had to guess two of the long lines were for the one long line and one long and one short for each wheel cylinder from the rear brake hose. Also this is for 9" brakes on an 8.25 rear with no ABS. Then you will need to bleed them. Passenger side first. Then drivers side. I always just do a gravity bleed. Open up the bleeder on the back of the wheel cylinder and let it drip with the cap off the master cylinder. Keep the master cylinder full. Also have a set of flare nut wrenches. Think this will give you the size you need for the bleeders. BK 7740215.
One last tip. You will notice that one flare on the premade brake line is longer then the other. Long one goes into the wheel cylinder side.

Just be happy you're not working with 3/8" line. Just replaced some fuel lines in my car and ugh what a PITA to work with!
Remember, you MUST DOUBLE FLARE your brake lines. It looks harder than what it is. I recommend getting some scrap line and practicing your flares.
